I've made several filament sensors found on the internet that are based on a creality endstop and they all have the same problems, more precisely THEY put a drag on the filament or it doesn't trigger properly so I decided to make my own version using some pieces of PTFE tube.
What you need:
- 16mm M3 screws with countersunk head - 2 pieces
- M3 nuts - 2 pieces
- creality endstop (with lever removed) - 1 piece
- about 3cm of PTFE tube
- a device capable of cutting the straight PTFE tube into 3 pieces at the dimensions of 12mm, 7.5mm and 9mm (you can print one).
- a 4mm drillbit and a drill (automatic or manual)
The dimensions for the pieces of PTFE tube are for the version with both PTFE ends, if you want to make one of the versions with M6 thread for a Bowden tube connector you will have to deal with the measurements of the end parts by yourself, the one in the center of 7.5mm which is the trigger it should remain the same on all models.
The models are positioned in the direction in which they must be printed, you can use PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon, etc. 0.2mm layer hight, 2 or 3 walls and 10-15 infill.
The model has very tight tolerances, so the endstop will most likely have to be forced into position.
The version in the pictures is the one with the case without the mount and PTFE tube at both ends in combination with the Blank cover……To be honest, I hadn't even modeled the rest yet :)
The version with M6 thread are for pneumatic connectors, see the image with which models they should be compatible.
CAREFUL!!!!! THE TOLERANCES ARE VERY TIGHT AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT FOR THE VERSION WITH M6 THREAD YOU WILL HAVE TO USE A M6 TAP AND THE HOLE FOR THE PTFE TUBE NEEDS TO BE ENLARGED WITH A 4MM DRILL!
English is not my main language, I hope I made myself understood well enough.
