A common issue for those with larger hands is being able to hold the camera comfortably in their normal grip.
While there are purchasable grip extenders for the Canon R8 available from both Canon and third parties, they are quite expensive. I saw the design for the Canon RP grip extender and decided to modify it to better fit my needs. This version is a littler taller, has a molded lip on the bottom of the grip, has an improved fit to the camera base, and prints in a better orientation! Importantly the new orientation allows for printed alignment pegs preventing rotation!
This model will work for both the Canon R8 and RP, but the STEP file is included so you can modify for fitting other cameras if you'd like!
There's a small ‘hidden’ compartment in the grip segment which you can fill with something tiny! There was just nearly not enough room to include an AirTag slot, but maybe I'll try to work one in for the future. I'm using this compartment to hold a small lens cloth, but let your imagination run free haha!
