ENGLISH

What the duck?

Meet "The Titan," a beefy hook inspired by @2dprintingenthu's design. This hook holds ~17 kg in PLA before breaking (9kg to play it safe), making it perfect for heavy stuff, like my tiny tailor's scissors 😅 With proper geometry and the right print orientation, you get a seriously badass hook for a piece of plastic this size 💪

The model is parametric and you'll find its FreeCAD file in the V2 folder. Both ready-to-print step files are designed for garage-style shelving with a main hole of ~12mm and a "groove" of ~6.5mm with metal thickness between 0.5mm to 1.8mm.

Instructions

Piece of cake… Follow the guide.

  • Download a .step file (15 or 25mm usable space) or customize the model with FreeCAD
  • Print the model with 4 walls, 15% infill and a brim
  • Insert the hook into a shelf hole
  • Hang your tools or whatever (I'm not your parent)

That's how we like it 🫦

Que-oie ?

V2 Changelog

Fixed the "suggestive lifting" issue
When something pressed against the back, the hook would lift up in a rather... suggestive manner. Not anymore. We've kept things professional now 😌

Fully parametric model
The model is now entirely parametric. Just open the file with the free and open-source software FreeCAD and tweak the values to your heart's content. Easy peasy.

Simplified base geometry
At the print level, there was a complicated fillet on the base that has been advantageously replaced with a chamfer. Your printer will thank you.
