The Pilk Tube is specially designed for securely holding and storing large deep-sea fishing lures, accommodating lures weighing between 300g and 600g.

The tube is adjustable to fit lengths ranging from 210mm to 320mm, with an internal diameter of 50mm.

It features strategically placed drain holes at the top and bottom, allowing you to wash and dry your lures directly in the tube after returning home.

Additionally, there are weight markings at 100g intervals on the top and bottom for easy identification of different lures.

Printing Instructions:

This design is optimized for FDM 3D printing.

I recommend using a Prusa MK4 printer with 3DE Premium PP (Polypropylene) filament. PP is essential for this design, as the tube's "indexed click closure" mechanism requires the flexibility and durability that only PP can provide. Using any other material may cause the closure to wear out quickly. For best results, I use the filament preset for Fiberlogy PP in PrusaSlicer, but with the bed temperature increased from 0°C to 100°C. The Prusa satin sheet works well for this print and I didn't need any additional adhesives like glue or PP-tape.

A presliced version

Recommended Settings:

  • Filament: Fiberlogy PP (Modified)
  • Nozzle Temp: 245°C
  • Bed Temp: 100°C
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Layer Height: 0.20 mm (Quality)
  • Infill: 15% Grid
  • Support: No support
  • Brim: 10mm

Happy printing and happy fishing :)
