Radiomaster Boxer Internal Antenna mod

Internal ELRS antenna mount for the Radiomaster Boxer using a simple 2.4Ghz EP1 T style Receiver antenna.

Doesn't this ruin the range ?

It's hard to quantify but you can expect a reasonable 10% drop in signal strength compared to an externally mounted antenna. Considering the outstanding performances of ELRS this loss is negligible in most situations and is in my opinion waaaay worth the convenience of having no antenna sticking out of my controller.

I have been flying it in rough scenarios such as Bando flying and Guerilla Whooping without any issues.

Don't do it if it's your main Long Range link.

Obviously if you're sending it 5km out every other Tuesday on 2.4Ghz you'd rather prioritize a foldable antenna mod instead. In my case I'm combining this mod with the Radiomaster Bandit Micro 900mhz with Foldable antenna mod making it a lovely compact and complementary dual frequency combo.

What antenna should I use ?

This print fits tightly antennas with this body shape (coaxial length doesn't matter) commonly shipped with ELRS EP1 Receivers :

What material should I use ?

TPU. Mount needs to be flexible to install the antenna in.

Step by step installation : 

1 - Open up the controller and remove the stock SMA mount. This will require disassembling the main PCB and unscrewing it from the front side.

2 - Insert the antenna in the 3d print then insert it where the original SMA connector was, and plug the UFL connector in. You can secure it with T7000 glue. 

Be very careful of the tiny capacitor right under the UFL plug, I broke it and had to resolder it.
