Description:
Since we bought our mk4 we tried various spatulas for removing print, but mostly we’ve returned to using an old smaller squeegee usually used for very specific areas when car wrapping. It works well with smaller prints you just wanna flip over or if you have stubborn TPU stuck on the build plate.
So something for those of you who are looking for a more delicate spatula-ish tool for your 3d prints.
When you work with car wrapping you hardly have to cut your nails since constantly using them to peel up vinyl files them down, so to avoid ruining your fingers you usually use these smaller squeegees. It’s important that they’re small and easy to handle and that’s why I find them very useful so I don’t screw up my own nails getting filament stuck underneath.
Aside from the spatula/squeegee we have also added a smaller nail-ish piece which we find useful for quickly cleaning the bed and also a longer one for narrower use.
These also work with various tool holders you can download that use a hook eg. this one:

We use these tools daily and we hope you get as much out of them as we have :)

Spatula/squeegee knife holder
Spatula/squeegee knife
Nail
Narrow nail
Print:
This is print in place so no supports are necessary. I think generally if you want a stronger print you wanna go as high as you can with the layer height. 3-4 Perimeters should also be good.
Assembly:
The spatula/squeegee knife and knife holder is connected as shown here:
With the knife turned upside down.
Filament:
If you want something that’s slightly flexible and good for flipping over frail pieces, then PETG or ASA can be a good choice. However we have had better experience using PC for everything except the Squeegee knife holder, since it’s very sharp and brittle. If it breaks then it breaks, it doesn’t bend or become dented which is quite annoying.
This is what we use:

If you’re not up for investing in a new filament then PLA could actually also be a good choice.
