I printed this one for Halloween, and it stayed out long after. The pumpkin shape makes it a decoration first, and the vortex inside gives it something to play with.
Color is where it comes together. I print the pumpkin orange and the vortex part green, so the two stand apart. Another version I like is printing the inner part mostly orange, then adding a color change near the top so the top prints green.
The files are Pumpkin Passthrough (Both Parts), Pumpkin Passthrough (Pumpkin Part), and Pumpkin Passthrough (Vortex Part).
Print Settings:
Infill: Pumpkin 10%-75%, Vortex 0%-10%
Infill Type: Gyroid
Layer Height: Standard
Brim: If you have a Smooth PEI sheet, you are more likely to have adhesion issues, but the brim is extremely easy to remove from this.
Supports: NO, as long as you have a well calibrated printer, you will be fine.
Filament: PLA
In PrusaSlicer, go to Print Settings, then Advanced Settings, and set XY Size Compensation to -0.35 for the inner piece. That helps improve the print tolerances even further. I like hearing about makes, questions, and requests.
