I created this model to store the ~250 alcohol markers my girlfriend has.
She wanted to store them in one of the drawers of her IKEA Alex cabinet. Due to the big volume of markers I decided to take on the challenge and create this solution.
All models are printed in PLA.
The grid is printed flat on the build plate, the stand is also printed flat on the build plate, the holder is printed upside-down. I tried printing it with the bottom down but the upside-down way was printing better. Keep the long side along the Y-axis to ensure the best stability.
The first version I designed took 6 hours per holder to print. I altered the design so now it will only take about 2-2.5 hours and instead of 2KG of PLA it only took 1KG to print all 32 holders.
The space needed for one set of 8 holders, a base and a stand is 147mm x 297mm x 149mm (WxLxH). To fill a whole IKEA Alex drawer you need 4 bases, 2 stands and 32 holders.
