Face Shield Replacement Parts
After my face shield fell and broke, I struggled to find replacement parts locally or online. So, I decided to design and print my own.
Recommended Filament:
- ASA or PLA+ are suitable for this print.
- Nylon-CF is not necessary for this application and would be excessive.
Print Settings: Adjust your settings according to your printer and filament type. My parts were printed using Polymaker Polylite Pro with these settings:
- Fan speed: 100% (as recommended by the manufacturer)
- Print speed: Max 70 mm/s, min 30 mm/s
- Nozzle size: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.15 mm
- No Support.
- Brim: 5mm
Estimated Print Time & Material Usage:
- Print time: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Filament usage: ~9 grams (actual usage may vary depending on your setup)
Bill of Materials (BOM):
- ~10 grams of PLA+ (or ASA)
- 1x M3 heat insert
- 1x M3 x 16mm bolt/screw (shorter screws may work; total length with bolt head was 18.8 mm, bolt head diameter: 5.00 mm)
Design Details: The CAD design was created in Ondsel ES (FreeCAD) and printed using an SV06 printer.
