While I didn't remix the original for the purpose of child-proofing the electrical outlets, this model certainly can be used for that purpose.
I had a unique situation that I wanted to leave the outlets in place inside the electrical box, but cover the outlets to prevent use. Call me lazy, but this was an easier solution than killing the circuit breaker, removing the outlet and putting a full cover over the box. Doing all this and still having to listen to the family complain about not having power in the room? No, Thank You!
