Mounting Bracket for a rather affordable LED Strip by Huemihui

I didn't want to spend 37€ on proper light in the shadowy prusa enclosure, so I opted for nice generic diffuse LED stripes. The LED stripes are clicked into the mounting brackets, which can be screwed into the ceiling of a Prusa Enclosure. As usual - sharing is caring, so here's my design files. I also added the FreeCAD source, in case you need to do some modifications.

Additional Parts required

For each strip will also need:

  • 2 M3x4 screws (e.g. M3x4 out of your Prusa Enclosure Kit)
  • 2 regular M3 Hex Nuts (e.g. M3n out of your Prusa Enclosure Kit)
  • LED Strips (roughly 10€, Affiliate Link) - you will only need half the set https://amzn.to/3ViVG1k
  • some Cable Ties

Assembly Instruction

  • Print 4 of the parts. I suggest using Prusament PETG and 0.10 Fast Detail Slicer Settings
  • Insert M3 Hex Nuts into the Parts, if you already set up your Prusa Printer you already know the drill…
  • Use the holes in your Prusa Enclosure and the M3x4 Screws to secure the mounting brackets into the ceiling of your prusa enclosure. Do not entirely tighten the screws yet
  • snap the LED bars in place
  • tighten the screws
  • set up the wiring and secure it to the cable tie notches in your prusa enclosure
  • connect power
  • let there be light
