Made a small Christmas Tree with a base for an ESP32S NodeMCU - that will run WLED. This connects to your WiFi and you can control the WS2812B LEDs that are connected to it.
You will need to print 3 parts - I have attached the OpenSCAD source for all 3 so that you can tweak it if you want.
Other than the 3 printed parts, you will need
- ESP32S NodeMCU
- WS2812B LED strip (commonly known as neopixels) - double check that you are getting the 5V variant and not the 12V.
- Micro USB cable for power
- Small wires to connect the ESP32 to the LED
- A solder gun or you can optionally buy solderless connectors like this
To get started with WLED - see their docs. No programming knowledge needed!
Merry Christmas!
