I searched the shops for a slim LED Pole mit RGB in the back and white in the front an DMX-control, couldn't find one, so I built it myself. Design goals: slim, low-key vertical light bar with RGB to the back and white to the front. Silent, no fans, controlled via DMX-Bus over XLR-connectors
The printfile consists only of the base, everything else is just off the shelf articles. The base provides stability for the light pole and space for a microcontroller.
I used a cheap Arduino Nano-clone and a breakout-Board, combined with an MAX485 module for the DMX-bus.
Power is provided via a USB-C-socket in the back from a phone charger, as everything is 5V powered.
The light pole are two aluminium LED-profiles glued back to back
For LEDs I used a 5V high density WS2812B addressable LED strip in the channel facing backwards and a 5V warmwhite / coldwhite LED strip in the front.
To control the front white LEDs a added two IRLZ44N MosFets to the PWM pin 9 and 10 on the Arduino like this Attached is my Ardunio program with a hardcoded start address, as I was too lazy to add a micro DIP switch to the controller.
If you find the base too unstable, add some sand to it, there are openings in the rips everywhere for this. It prints without support.
For assembly glue the LED profiles back to back, add LED strips but leave 25mm blank on the lower end. Then glue the profiles in the receptacle in the base. There are integrated cable channels to bring both cabels to the open space in the back of the base.
I added the SolidWorks and Step-Files, if you want to adapt / remix it. Have fun! Sebastian
