Knipex Xtend Clip

Print your own clip for the Knipex Xtend handle in the color of your preference. I used the handle model provided by Knipex for modelling a variant of the clip. I also added a couple of variants so you can choose either a “clean” version or a recessed variant more equal to the original version.

Fit

Unfortunately I do not have a Knipex plier with the Xtend grip yet, so all dimensions are based and tested on the 3D model provided by Knipex. Please let me know how it fits so that I can change dimensions if it does not fit properly.

I have also noticed that the rubber on Xtend grips in the store has quite large variation and thus you should probably expect that it will be tight/not fit on some variants due to the large tolerance on the rubber grip.

Printing notes

Test prints done using 0.4mm nozzle and add:north HT-PLA and X-PLA with decent result. This is a very small model, so maybe a 0.2mm nozzle might be better. It is slightly “rough” with 0.4mm nozzle. It also needs support, as it is difficult to get good prints without.

I added the flat model for easy printing without supports. You can then place the clip directly on the build plate with the face down. If you only want a colored clip, this will work fine. For other variants and for a more original look, I found that the other variant looked better.
