This 3.5mm TRS plug cover was created protect unused audio jacks on devices like headphones and amplifiers, from dust, dirt, and any potential mechanical damage, and, as a result, to prevent malfunctioning.
Made of FLEX (to be more specific, TPE was used to create this model), the cover is elastic enough to fit most of the TRS plugs (which are usually used as the external computer microphone and speakers plugs, headphones plugs and so on), as well as prevent any mechanical damage during contacting with them.
The hole is 3.5mm (0.138 inches) in diameter and 15mm (0.59 inches) deep, and prevents any damage to the plug prevents most damage to the plug, in case it gets hit.
