This is a bracket for mounting a MikroTik hAP ax2 router inside a 19" rack. It utilizes the stand included with the router for providing solid mounting by screwing it to the bracket.
Note: This is a router. Putting it in an enclosed metal box or between two metal plates will negatively impact its capability for wireless communication.
Parts required:
- 2x M3x8 countersunk screws. I only had M3x16 lying around so I used a saw to shorten two of them.
- 2x M3x6x5 threaded inserts. Alternatively you can use M3 nuts which you tighten from the bottom but by using threaded inserts you get a flush fit.
- 2x M6 bolts and cage nuts for mounting the bracket to the rack
- The router and its included stand
- A 3D printer and filament (duh)
Assembly:
- Use a soldering iron to push the threaded inserts into the holes on the mounting plate from the top.
- Screw on the mounting bracket
- Mount the router
- Mount the router to the rack
