I designed this encoder knob for my camera robot controls. I was using the most common encoder you would find if you search “arduino encoder” on Amazon. I wanted to be able to jog my camera quickly so I made the diameter large(32mm) with ribs, so I can roll my finger around it. It's very ergonomic. There is an M3 set screw hole to tap on the side to lock it onto a 6mm D-shaft encoder, but you likely won't need it because I made it an interference fit with the shaft. There is also an M4 tap drill size hole on the face, to install a cap screw for easier/different rotating(like the big jog wheels have those stubs on them). There is a raised ring in the middle for grip when pushing in on the knob for the encoder switch.
