A toilet hinge that could have been slow closing, but works as a simple hinge instead.

Notice: published a new v2 model printable with a 0.4mm nozzle and less failure points

This toilet hinge should be compatible with some IdealStandard models. I just measured my broken piece and turned it into a 3D Printable model.

This model is print in place and in order to print it, you absolutely need:

  1. 0.2mm nozzle
  2. Calibrated printer
  3. Calibrated PETG profile
  4. Good bed adhesion

Do not bother printing with PLA or using a 0.4mm nozzle.

You want this piece as strong as possible.
I printed it in PETG with these settings (YMMV):

  • 18 wall loops
  • 50% 3D Honeycomb infill
  • Manual support only under the outer arm (everything else is print in place and should break off with a slight rotation)
  • Slow speed (you will find it when tuning your PETG profile)
  • Thick external bridges
  • Detect overhangs

For remixers: inside this model you will find a planetary gearbox, it should supposedly create a bit of friction to slow close the toilet. In reality I made the gears too loose and there isn't friction at all
