Hello,
Have you ever had trouble during modeling, unsure what clearance to use so that a part fits tightly, can be removed easily, or rotates freely? Or perhaps you weren’t sure what radius size to choose or whether it would even be visible?
I’ve created a simple tool to help you determine the necessary tolerances for your specific printer. Just print this test plate along with the attached drawing, where you can write your specific parameters (printer type, nozzle size, layer height, etc.). This way, you’ll instantly know which dimensions to use when modeling.
The test plate allows you to:
Compare actual printed dimensions with the intended ones.
Determine tolerances for round holes and gaps.
Find the smallest printable hole your printer can handle.
Evaluate the strength of thin walls.
See which inner or outer radius to choose and whether it will be noticeable.
I hope this model saves you some time and effort.
Good luck and have fun! :)
