The mount for the rearview mirror on my 2014 Kia Rio broke. Of course, the mirror and its ball joint extension remained intact, and I wasn't going to pay $20 USD for a new one if I had the possibility to model the mount myself and restore its functionality.
I used a CR-10 printer, and the tolerances were a headache. However, I managed to get a satisfactory print. Installing the ball joint extension requires some pressure. I used a folded cloth to hold the mount steady and, by applying controlled pressure to the mirror, I got it to snap into the housing. This allowed it to function without any slippage, preventing the rearview mirror from losing its position while driving.The mount for the rearview mirror on my 2014 Kia Rio broke. On this new iteration, i add a modifier on ball joint with filling at 100%, the first model fails with high sun temperature, and the ball joint was losing and the rearview mirros falls makeng it no usable during driving.
