Overview:
I use my Qidi Plus 4 primarily to print engineering filaments that generate toxic fumes. I have a duct fan hanging on a nearby wall, so I ran cheap flex duct from the printer through the fan and up to an exhaust port to my workshop’s HRV system.
This project includes the various parts I used to connect everything, and I’ve included my Fusion 360 file, so you customize it how you wish using the included parameters.
It’s worth noting that I have to dial in the exhaust fan to pull enough hot air from the Plus 4 as to not trigger a chamber temperature error since the built-in fan can’t push enough air through the ducting, but not too much so the chamber stays hot. Once dialed in, it works great.
Printing:
Collars and pieces connecting one plastic part to another should be printed in TPU for a snug fit. I recommend printing everything else in ABS or better. No supports required for any parts if printed in the orientation shown. The one exception is the 90 degree elbow. This requires some support.
