An alternative spot to mount a spool holder to optimise printing of flexible materials and/or PLA.

You will need a Prusa spool holder from previous models, two M3x14mm socket head cap screws, two M3 nylock lock nuts. This mount is affixed to the rear of your core one and is fastened to the existing holes in the sheet metal.

INSTALLATION TIP: Insert the nylock lock nuts in the spool holder inner mount and put some sticky tape over the top of both, it will hold them in place until you screw in the screws from the other side.

PRINT RECOMMENDATIONS: Print with PLA with a minimum of 6 perimeters/walls and 50% infill.

There is a spot that will accept an M3x40mm socket head cap screw to lock the spool holder in place and it screws into the plastic, it's overkill but optional nevertheless.

NB: This spool holder mount does not interfere with Prusa's advanced filtration system add-on or the removal of the plexiglass.

No supports are required.

Happy printing.
