Description
On a recent date night, my wife and I painted some picture glass. They turned out really well but we did not have a good way of displaying them (cause you know they were the highest caliber works of art). We came up with these mounts that just hold the corners of the painted glass and allow you to see the whole painting while keeping them safe from little hands.
They are designed to hold onto the glass and allow the wire or string to route around the painted glass to hold them gently. Pull the wire/string tight and the four corners will hold the glass securely.
The corners can be held together with wire, string, braided floss, or anything else you can route through the holes.
Also including untested screw in type. For mounting to wall using screws. We really like the wire type, so I only printed one of these.
Parts
Wire or string. We used fencing tie wire, which is really overkill for this, but it was still easy to bend around the corner, just use pliers to pull more length through. Would recommend using picture wire.
Assembly
Feed the wire or string through the holes in the mounting corners. If using wire, bend the tip a little bit while feeding in and wiggle back and forth to turn the corner in the piece. Once you have all 4 corners on position in place around glass (make sure you wear work gloves), and then tie or twist together.
If you are using wire, you can create the hanging loop with the pliers you use to twist the wires together by spinning the wire around the pliers.
If you are using string, after tie the string together to hold the corners tight, tie a loop to hang on wall from.

Joke of the Design
Just a quick original joke to celebrate the posting of this new design (it helps if you have low expectations):
“What did Lego Batman say to his girlfriend while they were falling? We’re breaking up!”
