A simple, modular Gap Gauge, enabling you to measure how large a gap is. This is ideal for e.g. furniture, for measuring gaps in doors or between the floor and a table leg e.g..  The components are:

  • The gauge, going from 1 to 9 mm
  • A shim, to add 0.5 mm
  • A stackable block of 10 mm.

Note that the blocks can be staked among themselves too, enabling measuring beyond 19.5 mm.

I added the design file as well as the mesh for direct slicing.

I printed these parts with a 0.6 Nozzle and 0.3 mm Layer Height with PETG with CF. The parts are print-optimized and do not require supports. The tool produces an accuracy of about +/- 0.25 mm at these settings. For improved accuracy, I would recommend using a 0.4 Nozzle and smaller layer heights.

This tool was produced together with an article on Medium, showcasing how to evaluate tool-accuracy. The article you can find here: ###
