The original has people complaining that the hooks are really easy to break; I changed a few things to address that:
- I filled in the hooks to be solid. The original was the same as the injection molded version, and the walls were very thin (0.8 mm)
- I added a 0.10 mm gap around the hooks to force the slicer to create a better structure under the hook rather than placing the hooks on top of a top surface
- I filled in all the voids on the side panel so it is thicker overall, reducing the distance the hook sticks out above the surface
⚠ Layer adhesion is important for these hooks; when slicing, check the “slow down by height” option in the speed tab. I set my speed to 25 mm/s from 3.0 mm and up, and it does seem to increase the layer adhesion. I did a test and the hooks were significantly harder to break.
I printed mine with PLA. I did the original with supports and my test samples without, and supports may not actually be necessary
