I couldn't find any low-profile lithophane frames that accommodate the backlight board and a light guide so I designed this one. Good for a mailed gift - the whole assembly fits nicely into a USPS Priority Small Flat-rate Box, and should weigh no more than 340g (~12oz), everything included except a USB power source.

Required parts:
  • 120x144 lithophane (slightly larger than Bambu's 144x108 format) with a 4mm thick frame-type border.

  • 120x156 LED lithophane backlight board (original used this one). The measured thickness of the original was 1.56mm

  • 2x M3x10 countersunk screws

  • (recommended) USB dimmer (example)

Recommended materials:
  • PETG used in the original frame for heat resistance. Probably not necessary if the LED board is 5W or less.

  • transparent PETG for the light guide

  • white PLA for the lithophane

Notes:
  • Use exclusive slicing tolerance

  • Original uses the small leg option, though the one-piece stand is tested and works well too.

  • The extrusion at the back of the frame was originally intended to be an attachment point for the stand, until I realized that the plug at the back + legs at the bottom are sufficient. I kept it in the model, as it can be used as a gopro-style swivel mount to attach the frame to something.
