WHY?
The J22 has either a piece of garden hose or a small sail batten to prevent the spinnaker line from falling in the water. Those are vulnerable to break or wear down after a while. This is a solution where you can simply print a new one if it breaks.
ATTACHMENT
The attachment process is very simple. With the forestay disconnected put the part in place, once the forestay is attached it is fully secured.
PRINTING
The hexagon version requires no special printing instructions. The first bridge line is a bit long for some printers, but supports are not necessary.
The no pattern version is intended to be printed without a top and bottom layer, program this in your slicer with gyroid infill 15%-25% depending on your preferences. With gyroid infill water will simply run through the print, the print is quicker and uses less material in total.
