A much improved (remodeled from the ground up) version of my replacement control door for the NEC Multisync 3D.
Instructions:
- Recommended to orient as shown in the slicer screenshot. However depending on your printer and how you plan on finishing the part, you may get better results from another route.
- Tree support- enable ‘on build plate only’ & ‘remove small overhangs’ (NOT to be confused with make overhangs printable)
- Print with layer height of .14mm or lower.
- Use Arachne wall generation- standard will rid the text/icons
- Brim may be necessary.
- The two hinge/clip pieces are slightly dovetailed to the slots. They are intended to have a small amount of superglue applied. You need to print one of each as they are different lengths. Recommended these be printed in a ‘tough’ filament. Matte PLA didn't hold up great but PLA+ seems to just fine.
Other Notes:
- The models shown are printed in some old silver PLA+ with black paint pen on the lettering, and ash grey matte PLA with silver sharpie on the lettering. I believe the matte was printed at .1mm layers while the other was .14. I don't really have an appropriately colored filament at the moment.
- I tried a ton of variations on the door latch thing, this was the best I managed. You have to press in with a decent amount of force in the area of the latch to operate it. I plan on improving the model in the future, also adding a version with no latch.
