Description
A dual Z-axis upgrade solution specifically designed for the Prusa MINI/MINI+, which accurately addresses the core pain points of the single Z-axis structure + remote extrusion design — "Z-axis unevenness" and "XY-axis offset". After the upgrade, it directly transforms into an "MK4S mini version" equipped with dual Z-axis direct drive + Input Shaper technology.
No complex modifications are required—beginners can complete the installation by following the instruction manual. The printing precision (repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.04mm) and material compatibility (full support for PETG/TPU) are significantly improved, while original factory components can still be retained.
Core Features
· Dual Z-axis Synchronous Drive: Eliminates uneven stress on one side completely, improves repeat positioning accuracy from ±0.12mm to ±0.04mm, and completely resolves the layer line offset issue.
· Integrated Direct Drive Extrusion: Replaces the bowden extrusion system. It prevents clogging when printing with high-viscosity materials (PETG) and ensures trouble-free retraction when using flexible materials (TPU).
· Input Shaper Vibration Suppression: The XBuddy mainboard comes with a built-in accelerometer. When printing at a high speed of 200mm/s, the surface roughness (Ra) of the model is reduced from 3.2μm to 1.6μm, and resonance noise is significantly lowered.
· Beginner-Friendly Design: No soldering or custom programming is required. With the pre-flashed mainboard and step-by-step instruction manual, even users with no experience can get started quickly.
Design concept
With "simplicity, high cost-effectiveness, and strong compatibility" as the core, it minimizes the threshold for upgrading:
Zero-destructive modification: No changes to the original frame, heated bed, or control system; all components fit the original machine dimensions, and installation/removal does not damage the printer.
Compact and space-saving: After the upgrade, the overall footprint remains the same as the original machine. It can be installed even on a small desk, and components can be lifted as a whole during future maintenance without disassembling the units.
Print Instructions
It is recommended to use PETG material to print plastic parts (compatible with higher-temperature printing scenarios).
