While trying to print a large ABS piece, I had issues with the build plate itself warping off the bed (the model stuck to the plate just fine). I've made these to prevent that happening again.
Print with at least 3 walls. Choose your print material based on what temperatures you need it to withstand for the materials you'll be printing:
If you'll only be printing PLA and TPU when using these clips, you can print the clips in PETG / PCTG.
If you'll be printing PETG or PCTG while using these clips, you'll need to use (at least) ABS or ASA for the clips themself.
If like me you're using them for printing ABS / ASA, then you'll want to make the clips themself out of PC or PA.
Attach by placing the top (shorter end) into place first, then bending the lower end into place. Finally, push it inwards towards the bed. Attach in the positions shown in the photo.
Want longer ones? Just scale them up on the Z axis!
Likely also compatible with the AD5M and AD5M Pro.
NOTE: If you are running zMod and have Nozzle Control enabled, do NOT attach or remove these after starting a print, until the print has finished. Otherwise, you'll trigger an emergency stop/pause. If using zMod with Nozzle Control enabled, you must place or remove these clips only before you start a print or after a print has finished.
