A case fitted to contain a Raspberry Pi 4 + the official Camera Module 3. I have the wide lens variation but I assume it works for the normal lens variation as well.

The lid has a print-in-place sliding privacy cap that easily slides in front of the lens with a simple flick of your finger. I recommend printing from the provided 3mf file for the optimal supports for this cap to work properly.

The case has no screws and is instead kept closed by the wall-mount. If you don't want to use the wall-mount you might want to secure the lid in place some other way.

Print instructions:

  1. Recommend printing in PETG but PLA probably works just as well.

  2. Recommend slicing the lid from the provided 3mf file for optimal supports of the print-in-place sliding privacy cap.

Assembly instructions:

  1. Connect the Camera Module 3 to your Raspberry Pi4 using the ribbon cable.

  2. Slide the Raspberry Pi4 into the bottom of the case.

  3. Fit the camera PCB into the cutout of the lid. Make sure the PCB is flush against the lid and the tiny cylinder protrusions are sticking through the camera PCB all the way.

  4. Use a soldering iron to slightly melt the cylinder protrusions in such a way that it secures the camera PCB in place into the lid cutout. This can be tricky! Use low heat!

  5. Fit the ribbon cable in the case and close it. Don't force it! Mine has a natural length that fits very well as seen in the picture. I assume it is a standard length of the provided ribbon cable, but I don't know if yours is as well.

Other notes:
There is NO access to the MicroSD card and micro-hdmi ports when the Pi4 is mounted in this case. This is intentional!  I wanted a clean case with only the access required to use it as a stand-alone IP-camera with optional USB camera support and networking.

I recommend the MediaMTX software to drive it on top of whatever OS you want to use.
