Tired of your laptop charger's cable being mangled? Or did the flimsy velcro strap break? This is the easy solution: A fully parametric cable holder for any laptop charger!

To modify the model to your needs, you will need to have FreeCAD installed on your computer and some sort of measuring device (calipers, ruler, etc.):

  1. Open the model in FreeCAD.

  2. Find the object "parameters" in the model tree on the left.

  3. Klick on it and adjust the variables you need to.

List of variables to adjust:

  • brick_height & brick_width: The dimensions of the charging brick(power supply)

  • dc_cable_entry_point: How much space there should be in between the holders to insert the cable on the laptop charging cable side (the one with the barrel jack or USB-C port)

  • dc_cable_height: The height of the dc cable holder(the one with the barrel jack or USB-C port)

  • dc_cable_width:  The width of the dc cable holder(the one with the barrel jack or USB-C port)

  • mains_cable_xxxx: Same parameters for the Mains cable holder

  • wall_thickness:  How thick the walls of the model should be. Defaults to 3 and in most cases no change is necessary.

Then you can export the body as an STL and it's ready for printing!

I also provide two preconfigured STLs for lenovo thinkPad chargers. (the one you see on the picture plus a smaller one for older non-usbc chargers.)
