Winter Light Ornament

Upgrade your Christmas decorations with these ornaments designed to snap right onto your LED string lights!

The model is a dodecahedron split in half with a print-in-place hinge, allowing you to easily clamp it around a bulb even after your lights are already strung up. It secures with a simple pin mechanism and features a pass-through hole so the cable runs cleanly through the center.

I’ve included three distinct style options in the files. The "Ice Crystal" version features sharp, frosty cutouts for a starry look, while the "Bubbles" version uses circular holes to create a fun, sparkly effect. There is also a "Plain" version with no cutouts, which looks amazing when printed in translucent materials to create a soft, solid glowing lantern.

You could also modify the plain one yourself to make your own designs!

These are designed to be easy to print with no supports needed and work with any layer height, though they are optimized for a standard 0.4mm nozzle. When closed, the ornament measures approximately 51mm x 53mm.

Please note:

these are designed strictly for LED lights; do not use them with older incandescent bulbs as the heat they generate could be dangerous.

New "Ripple" Style Added!
I’ve added a fourth design option called "Ripple." This version features wavy, parallel cutouts on each face that create a dynamic, flowing light pattern. It allows for much more light transmission.
