The Engineering Purpose: In a NAS or Server build (like a TrueNAS setup using the Supermicro X10SDV), the side vents on the Node 304 often work against you. They allow air to be pulled in passively from the sides, bypassing the hard drives at the front.

The "Pressure Seal" Solution: This solid plate replaces the stock mesh or open 3D-printed vents to seal the chassis.

  • Forces Front-to-Back Airflow: By closing the side leaks, the rear exhaust fan is forced to pull 100% of its air from the front intakes, maximizing cooling over the HDD array.

  • Dust Control: Prevents dust from entering the GPU/PSU side of the case passively.

  • Noise Reduction: Blocks direct noise leakage from internal components.

Installation: Uses the standard mounting clips/rails from the original design. Prints as a solid piece.
