Decorative Lighthouse Lamp
A decorative lamp designed in the shape of a lighthouse, featuring layered geometry and textured surfaces that look great both lit and unlit. The model is split into three parts that press-fit together snugly, making assembly quick and glue unnecessary.
A straightforward print that becomes a striking decorative piece, perfect for ambient lighting, desk decor, or a small night light.
Press fits are intentionally snug; minor sanding may help depending on your printer tolerances, though it typically isn’t necessary
Scaling is possible, but you may need to adjust the press-fit connections to keep a snug fit
White or translucent filaments produce the best lighting effect, but other colors can create interesting moods
Parts
The lamp is made of:
Tower – the main structural body with a spiraling pattern
Railings and Light Section – features an octagonal pattern along with detailed railings around the lantern area
Roof – caps the model and completes the lighthouse silhouette
All parts are designed with tight tolerances so they press-fit securely without hardware.
Printing
No supports required
I added a brim to improve bed adhesion
Printed in white filament for the best light diffusion and soft glow
Works well with standard layer heights and typical PLA settings
The geometry was designed to avoid problematic overhangs while still preserving visual detail.
Design Details
This lighthouse includes subtle decorative features that become more noticeable when illuminated:
A spiral surface pattern running up the tower that adds visual movement
Octagonal elements in the upper section that give the lantern area more structure
Thin wall sections that help diffuse light evenly
Together, these features create interesting shadows and highlights when the lamp is on.
Lighting Recommendations
A standard A19 bulb is slightly too wide to fit comfortably inside the light section. I used a full-size E26 tubular bulb, but there are many similar options that work well.
LED bulbs are recommended to minimize heat and provide consistent light diffusion.
A simple flat socket or hanging socket style base works best so it can sit neatly inside the tower.
