This is a modular 3D printed diffusion panel designed to shape and soften light for product filming and timelapse work from the Prusa Core One Commercial BTS

Instead of using traditional fabric diffusion, this panel relies on exposed infill as the light-modifying surface. By setting top layers to zero in the slicer, the infill pattern becomes visible and acts as a structured diffusion grid.

By adjusting infill type and density, you can control:

• Light softness

• Transmission level

• Directional scatter

• Texture of the diffusion

This design was used in my Prusa Core One commercial BTS to create consistent, repeatable lighting for motion-controlled timelapses.

Recommended Settings

Material: PLA (white or natural works best)

Layer height: 0.2mm

Top layers: 0

Bottom layers: 3–4

Infill: 15–25% (Gyroid or Grid recommended)

Infill pattern: Experiment for different diffusion characteristics

For stronger diffusion, increase infill density.

For brighter output, reduce infill percentage.

Use Case

Clamp in front of a COB light or LED panel.

Works especially well for:

• Small product lighting

• Timelapse scenes

• Controlled studio setups

• Custom soft-light shaping
