Last year I found this company's kickstarter (https://plasticbottlecutter.com/) and decided to make a 3d printed version of it.
I have a very detailed guide on my website (https://www.souzoumaker.com/blog-1/2017/8/7/bottle-cutter) for anyone who wants to make this tool. I've found the rope to be extremely useful, especially when towing FRC robots.
Most designs use a pure 3d printed design, which leads to the plastic cutting into the tool. I get around this problem by adding aluminum strips from soda cans so there's no plastic cutting plastic.
