YADF – Yet Another Dust Filter
This is a remix of the Creality CFS Filament Dust Filter, redesigned and optimized for use with IFS systems and PTFE filament tubes, such as the setup commonly used with the AD5X.
While using the original design with an IFS tube, I encountered an issue where the sponge could slip between the filament and the tube entrance, eventually jamming the filament path.
This version fixes that problem and introduces several usability improvements.
Improvements
Anti-jam internal spacing
Additional clearance is added between the sponge and the filament exit, preventing the sponge from being pushed into the filament path.
IFS / PTFE tube spacer
A dedicated spacer is included for the IFS input tube or any other PTFE filament tube, ensuring proper alignment and stable positioning.
Improved latch geometry
The fastening mechanism was redesigned to provide:
better grip
easier opening
more reliable closing
Reduced thickness
The overall thickness was optimized so multiple filters can sit side-by-side when using multi-filament systems.
Compatibility
Designed primarily for:
AD5X with IFS
other systems using PTFE filament tubes
Usage
Insert a small piece of sponge inside the filter.
Close the housing.
Insert the PTFE / IFS tube using the provided spacer if needed.
Feed filament through the filter.
The sponge gently removes dust from the filament before it enters the extrusion path.
