This is an adapter to utilize an already existing camera mounting system with connectors for all kinds of cameras:

The name of the mounting system could be misleading. It is not only for the RPi Cam and not only for Prusa printers. My adapter makes it compatible with the U1 and there are already many remixes for all kinds of cameras available. Take a look at the list and see if you find the one you need:

For most of the cameras you only need my adapter and one of the linkages to position the camera above the build area.
If you are using the paxx12 firmware for the Snapmaker U1 you can connect a USB webcam directly to your printer and it can be integrated in the Klipper web interface.

The top cover for the Snapmaker U1 can be found here:

Printing:
The part must be printed with support.

Mounting:
First build the camera arm. Take the adapter, the needed linkages, the camera connector and the camera itself and screw them together lightly. You need to adjust it later. Next remove the plug from the frame and guide the camera cable down through the hole. Now you can snap the camera mount adapter into the frame. This should be stable enough but you can also add 2 M3 screws to be sure. After that you can adjust the linkages to position your camera but still keep them a loose fit.
Load a toolhead and navigate it in all four corners to check the camera does not interfere with the cable or the PTFE tube. Do the same test with the other 3 toolheads. Reposition the camera if you encountered any problems and repeat the tests. Do a last check to make sure the IKEA/Walmart box still fits and if everything is OK. Now you can tighten down the screws of the linkages.
These are only plastic screws and don't need much force! If you need stronger screws there are remixes that utilize metal screws.
