The Contractable Book Holder is a folding 3D-printed station that supports 1,000-page books while organizing your phone, pen, and mug. Its "closed book" design uses hidden hinges and magnets to fold flat for easy bookshelf storage.

Build Instructions

  1. Prep: Clear the support material from the honeycomb faces and the internal drawer slot.

  2. Hinges: Secure hinges into the base slots using heat-set inserts. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MVPPCVD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

  3. Magnets: Press-fit or glue magnets into the top circular recesses. Note: Verify polarity so the sides snap together when closed. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FG7QHHRD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

  4. Drawer: Slide the accessory drawer into the side track. It is designed with a 0.3mm tolerance for a smooth fit.

Print Tips

  • Material: PLA (for rigidity) or PETG (for durability).

  • Settings: 0.28mm layer height, 10% Grid infill.

  • Orientation: Print the main "Bookmark" frame on its side to maximize bed adhesion.

  • Supports: Use Tree/Organic supports for the honeycomb patterns to save material and ensure a cleaner surface finish.
