I don't charge for my functional models. Please consider purchasing some of my paid models as a way to support both my work, and this great website: https://www.printables.com/@ninjamida/store

This is an old version of the model. I have left it up due to it being printable with a .4 nozzle, whereas the newer version is designed and tested with smaller nozzles only.

If you have a .2 or .25 nozzle, please use the newer version instead (also includes DuPont and hybrid "XhuPont" connectors).

I want to eventually model connectors directly into some of my designs. The first place to start is modelling the connectors themself!

Included are printable connector pieces for XH2.54 connectors with 2 to 6 pins (and a parametric FreeCAD source file is included if you need 7+ pins, just need to change one variable then re-export the STLs). You can also tweak the various measurements in there if they aren't quite coming out right for you.

There are three pieces for each pin count:
- Socket. This is a reproduction of the socket that generally comes with pins preinstalled and is soldered onto a board.
- Socket Reinforced. This is a bulkier (non standard) socket that has an extra reinforcing wall around the edges, greatly reducing the chance of the tabs snapping off.
- Plug. This is a reproduction of the plug that crimped wires are generally inserted into. For printability reasons it is not 100% identical to the standard one, but is close enough to be compatible.

Print recommendations:
- I have only tested this in ABS, it may need adjustments to the model if using other materials
- 0.4 nozzle is okay, 0.2 or 0.25 is better
- Layer height equal to half your nozzle diameter
- Arachne wall generator
- Print very, very, very slow (20 - 30 mm/s)
- Supports are not needed
- Use your judgement in regards to an outer brim, but no inner brim
- Print as oriented in the STL files

I plan to add a male connector designed for use on a cable (rather than soldered to a board) too - something that is not a standard part of XH2.54 - but need to figure out what I feel is the best way to approach that problem first.
