IDE Ecology Distribution Box Replacement Screw — Ref. 77200 Compatible

3D-printable replacement screw for IDE Electric Ecology series IP65 distribution boxes (CDN24PT/RR and compatible models). Designed as a drop-in replacement for the original ref. 77200 quarter-turn closure screw, where standard Legrand or generic enclosure screws do not fit.

Specifications

  • Total length: 45 mm

  • Head diameter: 15 mm × 8 mm height

  • Body diameter: 8 mm

  • Slot drive: 2 × 2 mm full-width straight slot, fully open at the top

  • Tip: Conical chamfer, Ø6 mm tapering to Ø8 mm over 3 mm for easy insertion

  • External thread: Trapezoidal profile, 1.3 mm radial protrusion, 2.5 mm pitch, located 4–11 mm from the tip

  • Locking ramps: Two truncated cones (Ø8→Ø12 mm), both oriented with the larger diameter facing the head, separated by a 1 mm gap

  • Lower locking ramp features a 4 mm wide axial slot exposing the central body — required for proper engagement with the IDE Ecology housing

Design Notes

The screw operates as a quarter-turn fastener with helical thread engagement. The trapezoidal thread profile (0.8 mm base, 0.4 mm crest) reduces material stress and allows easier release from FDM print supports. The two stepped locking ramps interlock with the matching geometry inside the IDE enclosure lid, and the slotted lower ramp permits passage through the keyed slot in the housing.

Print Recommendations

  • Material: PETG or ABS (PLA not recommended — insufficient torsional strength)

  • Orientation: Head down on the build plate

  • Supports: None required

  • Infill: 40% minimum

  • Perimeters: 3 minimum

  • Layer height: 0.15 mm or finer for clean thread definition

Customization

All critical dimensions are exposed as parameters at the top of the OpenSCAD file: head/body/length, thread start position, length, pitch, protrusion and thickness, ramp slot width, and tip chamfer. Adjust ±0.1–0.2 mm for tighter or looser fit depending on printer tolerance.
