The direct mounting of the HAFC V2 onto the original PTFE tube of the CORE One / + is inadequate (there is too little space) and looks unattractive, so I looked for a better solution.

The idea was not to rigidly mount the HAFC V2 housing in order to avoid excessive stress on the cutting mechanism. The HAFC V2 had to slide within the mount.

There is slightly more tension on the filament compared to a direct mount, but the CORE One / + extruder has no trouble handling it.

Hardware:

  • 2 x M3 - 10 mm screw

  • 2 x M3 nut

to fix the mount to the printer.
(If the screw threads on your CORE One / + are still intact, you can only use 2 × M3 - 8 mm screws without nuts.)
It can be slightly tricky to fasten the screws into the nuts; hold the nut in place with your thumb when tightening the screw.

The PTFE tube between the CORE One / + PTFE tube and the HAFC V2 should be just long enough to allow the HAFC V2 to reach its cutting position without tension. Its length will depend on the length of your PTFE connector.

At the end of the PTFE tube, I inserted the Prusa Core One Filament Guide
in order to stabilize the HAFC V2 on the mount.

The filament angle relative to the filament guide is improved when using for all spool types  the Prusa CORE One+ 2kg Spoolholder

Printing:

  • PETG recommanded

  • Infill: 25%

Extensively successfully tested ;-)
