Simple cat flap for indoor use. Our cats are using the flap now for more than two years, so the it's proven to share.

Additional hardware: 2x approx. M3x40 screws and some super glue/epoxy and construction adhesive for mounting the cat-door to the human-door.

Regarding door thickness: the inner frame should overlap with the outer frame. It's designed for a 4cm thick door.

Print: Nothing special, I used PETG but PLA should work fine.

Assembly:

  1. Glue the two hinges on the recess of the flap top corners (opposite of the rounded one). Check for axial alignment of both hinges.

  2. Screw the flap to the inner frame with the M3 screws. Check and adjust for free movement of the flap within the frame.

  3. Check if the inner frame slides into the outer frame.

  4. Cut the hole - use the frame as rough guide. Smaller imperfections will be covered by the bezel of the frame.

  5. Glue the outer frame into the door. Use the bezel as gluing surface.

  6. Slide the inner frame into the outer and glue it to the door as well.

  7. Train your cat to use the flap!

Please tripple check if everything works as expected before cutting a hole in the door.
