Plinkodrop - Tabletop Marble Run

A simple, mechanical tabletop plinko game designed for your desk. Drop the marble at the top and watch it bounce through a grid of triangular pins, funnel through the side ramps, split around a center diamond divider, and land in the collection slot at the bottom.

The entire project prints completely flat on the bed and requires zero support material.

Files Included

  • plinkodrop-board.stl (The main game board)

  • plinkodrop-base.stl (The angled stand)

  • marble-12mm-diam (You can use your own marble. Make sure it is 12mm or below in diameter)

Print Settings

  • Supports: None (Optimized and oriented to print support-free)

  • Infill: 15% Gyroid (Standard infill works great for the board)

Design & Assembly Features

  • Two-Piece Design: The main board sits directly into the separate base block. The base is angled backward, holding the board at the perfect slope for the marble to roll reliably without tipping the toy over.

  • Base Cavity: The base stand has an internal cavity. You can pack it with clay, putty, or Play-Doh while printing to give the base a more solid feel.

Marble Assembly Tutorial

No glue required! The 12mm marble is split into two halves so it prints flat on the bed with a perfectly clean surface finish.

  1. Insert the Core: Push the internal core pin into the pocket of one semi-sphere half.

  2. Snap Together: Align the second half onto the exposed side of the pin and push them firmly together until they snap flush.

  • Tip: If the friction fit feels extra tight on your machine, a quick squeeze with a pair of pliers will help slide them perfectly into place!
