3D-printable helmet Velcro mount for the Princeton Tec Switch MPLS family of lights, including the original Switch MPLS and the newer Switch RGB MPLS.

The mount is designed to accept adhesive-backed Velcro so the light can be attached to a helmet with matching Velcro. It also includes a retention hole for a paracord safety tether in case the Velcro attachment comes loose.

Retention line:
The mount includes a small hole for attaching a paracord retention line.

Recommended setup:

  1. Feed paracord through the retention hole.

  2. Double the cord back on itself.

  3. Secure the doubled section with a small zip tie.

  4. Attach the other end to the helmet or another secure point.

Printing:
Print the mount upside down with supports enabled.

PETG is a good starting choice for general use. ASA, ABS, or nylon may be better for heat, impact, and outdoor durability.

Assembly:
You will need:

  • Printed mount

  • Adhesive-backed hook or loop Velcro

  • Matching Velcro on the helmet

  • Small paracord loop

  • Small zip tie

Notes:
The paracord safety line provides backup retention if the Velcro attachment fails, but it does not fully retain the light in the mount. The light can still rotate and come out of the mount if the fit is loose.

Before use, make sure there is tight lockup between the light and the printed mount. If the light can rotate, rattle, or slide out easily, adjust the print, material, or model before relying on it.
