Ceiling Spacer Mount for the UniFi U7 Pro Max

Germany, June '26. Heatwave. 🥵

With 40 °C outside, two things are essential: keeping your head cool, and keeping your WiFi alive. Both failed on me at times. My U7 Pro Max hit surface temperatures above 70 °C flush against the ceiling, and the connection started dropping out right when I needed it.

So I designed this.

What This Is

A spacer that sits between the metal mounting plate and the ceiling, lifting the whole assembly off the surface so the heat has somewhere to go.

- Screw holes for hardware up to M5
- Generous venting holes so warm air can escape instead of getting trapped
- Aligns with the existing plate, no drilling of new ceiling holes

Versions

There are two versions available as print profiles:
Version 1: Low Profile. Total height is 12mm. Cutouts are 12mm x 4mm
Version 2: High Profile. Total height is 16mm. Cutouts are 22mm x 8mm

I recommend going with version 2 for maximum ventilation effect.

A Note on the Holes

The mount is designed for A-holes.

(that's literally how the holes are marked on the metal plate. 😉)

Printing Notes

Print this in PETG or something even more heat-resistant. These access points still run seriously hot, even with the spacer doing its job. PLA will sag on you, and a drooping AP on the ceiling is not the look you want.

Stay cool, keep the packets flowing.
