Bracket designed for use with a 25 mm rod. I used mine to create a towel rail on the side of a wardrobe.

I only had short lengths of 25 mm rod available and very limited space for a towel rail. As I am also renting, I did not want to attach anything directly to the walls.

To create a longer rail, I joined two rods together using a push-fit printed connector, then fitted one of these push-fit brackets at each end. The bracket has a single screw hole in the back, which allowed me to secure it from the opposite side of the wardrobe panel. I used one 4 mm wood screw per bracket, which has worked well.

Due to the angle of the bracket, most of the load is directed against the side of the wardrobe rather than relying entirely on the screw. This makes it more than strong enough for use as a towel rail.

The hole in the bracket is 25.3 mm in diameter to allow for slight variations in the thickness of wooden rods. The hole in the connecting tube is 25.2 mm for a tighter fit, helping to keep the two rods securely aligned.

Print settings (that I used):

  • PLA

  • 2 wall loops

  • 10% gyroid infill
