This is a remix of the Shop Vac Filter Holder by jsymons. It is intended for the small Shop-Vac cartridge filters sold under part numbers 90398, 903-98, 9039800, 903-98-00, 952-02H87S550A, including the IN VACUUM replacement filters for many Shop-Vac models of 4 gallons and smaller.
The original design uses a small threaded nub that can be difficult to print reliably and is prone to breaking off. I replaced that feature with a larger, fully threaded neck using a standard thread profile that prints more cleanly and gives the cap a stronger connection.
The rest of the end-cap geometry and its intended function remain based on the original model.
What changed
Replaced the small, fragile threaded nub
Extended the threaded section down to the cap
Used a more conventional, printable thread profile
Improved strength at the base of the threaded connection
Print with the wide, flat face on the build plate. No supports should be required. Use several walls/perimeters for additional strength around the threaded neck.
