A replacement armrest for the IKEA MARKUS office chair, designed as a functional and sturdy alternative to the original armrest.
The design uses the existing mounting points of the chair and features a reinforced structure with a large internal cutout to keep the part lightweight without sacrificing too much rigidity. Rounded edges and smooth transitions give it a clean look that fits the MARKUS quite well.
I designed this because I wanted a simple replacement that can be printed at home and still looks like it belongs on the chair.
For a functional part like this, I recommend:
Material: PETG, ASA or ABS recommended
PLA: Possible, but PETG or another tougher material is preferable for long-term use
Layer height: 0.20 mm
Walls: 4–6
Infill: 25–40%
Infill type: Gyroid or similar
Top/Bottom layers: 5+
Supports: Depending on orientation and printer
Nozzle: 0.4 mm works well
